It is the usual suspects, Grey College, Boishaai and Glenwood who occupy the top three positions in the Powerade Performance U16’s Rugby Rankings at this early part of the season.

Published in National

The first publishing of the U15’s Powerade Performance Rankings for 2015 makes for some very interesting reading especially when one considers that this age group is now in their second year of High School rugby with the players a little fast and bigger than they were last year. Who has benefited the most from the experience?

Published in National

It is still early doors for the U14 Powerade Performance Rankings but already a familiar pattern has emerged with many of the traditionally top schools finding themselves at the northern end of the table.

Published in National

Paarl Gim missed out on any action during the Easter Weekend but find themselves at the top of the Powerade Performance Top 50 Rankings as they head into the Noord-Suid Rugby Week where they will face Menlopark and Waterkloof.

As expected the Easter festival matches have allowed plenty of movement on the table with more teams being added and the cross-provincial games giving some insight into the current strength of the various teams.

Wynberg are second on the rankings after enjoying an unbeaten run at the St.Stithians Festival where they took care of St.Andrews College, Pretoria Boys and St.Albans and have got off to the perfect start to their 2015 season. Time will tell whether can live at this altitude but the early signs are good for the Cape side.

Boishaai are well placed in the top three and are unbeaten this season so far taking plenty of confidence after beating a powerful Monnas side during the St.John’s College Festival. Paul Roos Gym cruise into the top five after having faced Affies, Monnas and Jeppe and come out on tops every time.

This is how the rankings are looking like after the Easter Weekend matches and although we can expect some fluidity on the table as more matches are played, it is apparent that the traditionally strong teams are beginning to rise to the top with a few other teams punching above their weight.
