Boys Hockey: This Week's SA Schools Rankings: 24/05/2016

The top ten teams all recorded victories during the past week’s matches which has resulted in a virtually unchanged group leading the SA Schools Top 70 Rankings for this week.

Rondebosch are hanging onto the top position but only just after being forced to share the spoils with Paul Roos Gym in a 1-1 draw. This has resulted in the chasing pack closing in on the leader with Maritzburg College now within touch of possibly regaining their perennial position at the top of the ladder after a good victory over Kearsney College.

Kearsney College were poised for a minor upset when they went 1-0 up from an early Kyle Koenig goal but Maritzburg College rose to the occasion as they capitalised on Kearsney’s frequent mistakes.

Westville who have already lived at the top spot for a couple of weeks will be happy with their current form and they are also well placed to move upwards although one has to believe that their match against Maritzburg could well decide the fate for both teams.

With so little separating the top teams there is still scope for some interesting movement on the table where victories are paramount.
