First XI Cricket: The Powerade Top 60 Rankings for 2015/16

After a very busy 2015/16 season the dust has finally settled on what has been another terrific season of schoolboy cricket. With zero defeats out of some 33 matches few would argue that St.Stithians are the deserved champions of the sport and finish at the top of the Powerade Rankings for the Season!

It was another wonderful season for Coach Fergus Gray and his team who came, saw and conquered all and sundry as they faced the majority of the country’s leading cricket schools. Well done Saints on a brilliant season!

Affies will be pleased that they finished in the top ten after poor start to the season but they have finished strongly to place amongst the leading teams. Pretoria Boys High also enjoyed one of their finest seasons and are good value for their second spot on the table.

There have been some dialogue with coaches as to why the rankings are judged from September 2015-April 2016 and we are happy to look into this matter. However we were approached several seasons back by many coaches asking to run the season from September-April as it was felt that the majority of teams field their future First XI in the fourth term and do not include their matric players.

Please let us know your thoughts on this.

Many thanks for all the results that have been submitted and the positive and supportive feedback we have received. A special thanks to the coaches and players for providing the fans of schoolboy cricket a wonderful advert for the game.
