First XI Cricket: The Powerade Performance Top 50 Rankings: 28/10/14

St Stithians made inroads into Waterkloof’s lead for the number one position in the Powerade Performance Cricket Rankings this week with a very successful week. Saints enjoyed a fine week of wins which included a solid victory over St. Andrews School and Grey College and are putting a great deal of pressure on the leading team.

Tristan Tedder Powerade Performance Cricket RankingsRicardon Vasconcelos was in great form for St. Stithians notching up an unbeaten century against Roodepoort in a Johnny Waite T20 match and he added a quick fire 54 not out against Grey College to set up the win.

Waterkloof however are still in command of the top spot after a comfortable win over minnows Vereeniging Gim, and although it was a win over a weaker side and the result was graded to reflect that, Klofies do enough to hold on the Number one spot.

Two superb hundreds were recorded in the Maritzburg College vs Kearsney College match, one from either side. Sohail Mahmoud struck an excellent 114 for College and Tristan Tedder from Kearsney was not to be outdone as he led his team to victory with a wonderful 101 runs.

There are still a few matches left before the curtains come down on the 2014 cricket season and plenty of opportunity for some of the teams to make progress up the table.
