Cricket: The Latest SA Schools Top 45 Rankings

The Waterkloof machine continues to mow down every team that they face as they stretched their unbeaten run to 11 matches so far this season and they are firmly entrenched at the top of the table.

rankings 2014 copyWaterkloof had a busy week with several matches played in the various formats but clinically seemed to dispose of all and sundry without too much fuss. They have opened up a sizeable gap already over the rest of the leading teams but they will be mindful that last year started off very similar for them only to see them lose their way near the end of the year.

There is a cricket revival going on at Grey College who have not enjoyed the greatest of seasons in the past two years but 2014 is proving to be a very good one for them. They also are unbeaten so far this year and they easily took care of business in their match against Selborne College during the past week. Raynard van Tonder was in brilliant form with the bat with an unbeaten 121 runs with Fritz de Beer adding some lusty shots in his 84 to help set up a big win over Selborne.

Wynberg edge closer to the top  after a couple of comfortable wins during the past week over Paul Roos Gym and SACS.

To bring the matches played up-to-date several matches played in January have been included which have had a bearing on this weeks rankings.

A special congratulation to Rondebosche’s Murray Commins who went past 1000 runs in their draw against the touring Tonbridge side with yet another century. It is a massive achievement for the young run machine especially as it is still so early in the season.
