Cricket: Bowling Machine's- A Health Warning

Bowling machines are very much part of the modern cricket coaches equipment and it is not uncommon for a batter to spend some time during a net session polishing his skills as he faces the machine.

However in this incident the operator of the bowling machine lets the batter down by sending a ball down when the batter is not ready. The batsmen is former Kent opening bat David Fulton who played 200 first class matches and after this incident was nearly forced to end his career prematurely when the ball hit him in his left eye. He had major surgery, seeing three specialists and was sidelined for eight weeks before returning to the game.
